LANDSCAPES
Landscape photography is used to capture the natural beauty of the world and nature, as the name implies.
Most of these images were taken in my own time with a simple phone camera but there are two that were taken on an excursion to the Adelaide Zoo with a better quality camera.
My favourite of the images below is the bottom left of the sea, taken at Semaphore Beach from the end of the jetty with my phone. Although there is not a lot happening in this photo, I love the lighting and how the clouds are sightly separated to allow the sun's rays to be visible, shining down on the dark water which just makes it a little less opaque or murky looking.
My least favourite is the bottom centre image of the snow on top of a hill. This was taken a short distance out of a town called Jamestown where it is not usually snowing so it tells a miraculous story but the lighting and the overall composition of the image just isn't all that great. The small section of road in the bottom left of the image is a distraction and the colours in the photo just don't create that ideal contrast.
