TATTOOS
The aim of this Photoshop task was to add a tattoo to the subject of the image but make it look semi-realistic rather than just something stuck on there after the shot was taken.
Each of the three images below are my own and they were taken during class time with the cameras that had been provided by our school. The photos were then transferred to my laptop and saved as a file in Photoshop.
To create the tattoos themselves, the patterns or images were downloaded from the internet and placed in a separate Photoshop file. A new layer was created from this background before a dark army green colour was chosen to fill in the box, over the top of the image with the paint bucket tool. The blending option was then changed from 'normal' to 'screen' which turned the tattoo the dark army green rather than the black or grey that it was originally. The two layers (Background and layer one) were then merged together so that the tattoo could be dragged across to the other file containing my own image.
From here, the tattoo was resized to fit where desired and the blending option was changed again to 'multiply' which eliminated the background of the pattern. The warp tool found in the transform tab from edit was then used to round off the tattoo a little more to make it fit to the part of the original image.
Once I was happy with the final product, it was saved and uploaded here.
I was really happy with how all three of these tattoo tasks turned out but my favourite is the last one with the angel wings and the infinity symbol in between. I had to download two images for this tattoo, being the singular angel wing and the infinity symbol. I had to copy the angel wing and flip it 180 degrees horizontally so that it would resemble the back of an angel before I warped the two wings separately to fit the shape of Macey's neck. I then placed the infinity sign in between the wings and changed to size to suit the rest of the tattoo.
My least favourite of the three is the centre one just because it looks a little too photoshopped, possibly due to how the images were just look a little too refined, making them stand out more from the original image. I was still happy with it as I liked the concept behind it but it is probably just a little too sharp which makes it look more like a sticker which could have been put on in some phone app.
